KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 3, 2016:
Robberies are no laughing matter, especially when it involves our own safety and that of our loved ones.
However, spoof videos of the latest hottest issue on the right to self-defence in the face of robberies is gaining attention on social media platforms such as Facebook.
This follows the case of a man who was arrested for killing one of two robbers who attempted to make off with his generator at his home near Kerteh in Terengganu. He has now been charged with murder.
One video, posted by Fariz Jefri on his Facebook page, which was shared by other pages, featured a boy treating a robber who entered his house as a guest instead of a threat.
The video became a hit, was picked up by Sukan Star TV and received more than 1.4 million views, 26,833 likes, 25,200 shares and 2,000 comments from netizens.
Another spoof video which was made by a local entertainer named Zukieee also became an instant hit.
The video, which has three skits, ended with him asking his friend a riddle about the safest job on earth — the answer was “burglary”.
The video also featured him asking riddles related to the recent case of a girl who was alleged to have been kidnapped but was later found with her boyfriend as well as the issue of working two jobs as proposed by a minister.
The video amused many netizens and received more than 600,000 likes.
