KUALA LUMPUR, 6 May 2017:

Following discussions with all the teams and riders, organisers of the Cub Prix race have decided to cancel the race scheduled this weekend as a mark of respect to ONEXOX TKKR Racing rider Norizman Ismail – who died yesterday.

Norizman was involved in an accident at the first turn during the time trial of the CP150 category at Bandar Baru Kijal, Kemaman, Terengganu yesterday.

A statement from the Automobile Association of Malaysia said Norizman was pronounced dead at the hospital at 4.50pm.

“As soon as the accident occurred, marshals and paramedics performed immediate treatment while the red flag was hoisted to end the session.

“Norizman was taken by an ambulance to the trauma unit to receive immediate treatment before being taken to the hospital with a life-support machine and full medical team. The hospital did its best…however, he could not be saved.”

Norizman began his career in the Cub Prix race in 2004, and became the premier class champion twice –  in 2005 and 2011.
