AMPANG, 16 May 2017:
An elderly woman was found dead with both her earlobes severed in her bathroom at Taman Dato Ahmad Razali, here yesterday.
Saliha Sheikh Mohamad, in her 70s, was believed to have been robbed as her gold necklace and earrings were missing.
Her daughter-in-law, Norizan Jaafar, 41, said Saliha’s body was found by a university student, who rented a room in the house.
Norizan said Saliha, who hailed from Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, was living with her tenant, while her six children lived separately.
Ampang police chief ACP Hamzah Alias confirmed receiving the report on the incident, saying the case was being investigated.
Meanwhile in SUNGAI PETANI, a nine-year-boy, who was found wandering alone behind a school by a security guard, having claimed he has been abused and thrown out of the house by his own mother.
Kuala Muda District Police chief ACP Md Zukir Md Isa said police investigations found the boy had lived with his grandmother in Jeli, Kelantan, before his mother took him back to live with her since December last year.
“When he was fetched by his mother, there were scars on his body, but after questioning, he said he was beaten for mischief.”
Md Zukir said the mother had registered her son to attend school like any normal child, but the boy often caused problems at the school by stealing and involved in fighting.
He said the woman also admitted to have hit the child to educate, but no serious injuries were detected during medical examination.
The child would be handed over to the Social Welfare Department for further action.
