KUALA LUMPUR, 12 Feb 2017:
Supposed reports of former national badminton doubles player, Datuk Razif Sidek having passed away – which went viral on social sites yesterday – are not true, said his younger brother Rashid Sidek.
When contacted, Rashid confirmed that news was fake and his brother was now in Genting Highlands, Pahang to attend the Purple League Badminton Championship.
“I was shocked when I received many calls from friends asking about the matter since last night. If the news is true, I would have been informed earlier.”
He also expressed regret with the action of the individuals who uploaded a picture of a man allegedly to be Razif lying on a hospital bed.
“Such matters can not toyed about as it involves the lives and feelings of people close to him (Razif).”
Meanwhile, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said a screengrab of a Twitter post claiming Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor (Ku Nan) would resign, was false.
“This viral post is false,” he said in a post on his official Twitter account yesterday.
The dubious screengrab of the Gombak MP and Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman’s Twitter feed had gone viral on social media.
