PETALING JAYA, 10 Jan 2017:
An owner of a baby boutique was sentenced to a month’s jail and fined RM1,500, in default six months’ jail, by the magistrate’s court here today for making a false police report on a armed-robbery.
Magistrate Zaki Asyraf Zubir handed down the sentence on Mohd Faisal Bohari, 33, who pleaded guilty to the charge.
He was ordered to serve the jail sentence today.
Mohd Faisal was charged with providing false information, orally and in writing, on a armed-robbery, which he claimed to have lost RM16,000 and a handphone – when the robbery did not actually occur.
The offence was committed at the Damansara police station here at 12.21pm on Dec 12 last year.
The charge, under Section 182 of the Penal Code, provides an imprisonment for up to six months, or fine of up to RM2,000, or both, on conviction.
