The Registrar of Societies (RoS) has confirmed that the letter issued to call for fresh elections in MIC was in fact issued by it and not a third party.
MalaysiaKini reported RoS director-general Mohamad Razin Abdullah as saying that the notice to MIC on Jan 6 was drafted by his officer with the letter’s contents discussed internally.
He was also reported to have said that the RoS did not receive any draft from MIC.
Yesterday, former MIC strategic director K. Ramalingam alleged that the letter was drafted by the MIC faction aligned to Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam and Datuk Seri G.Palanivel.
Ramalingam said he had come into possession of an email sent to several people on Jan 5, 2015 and it contained the draft of the RoS letter.
He alleged that MIC senator Datuk S.A. Vigneswaran received the letter from his lawyer and he then sent the draft letter to several people, including an officer with the RoS.
“The draft was sent by him on Jan 5 and the next day, RoS sent a letter to the MIC which was almost the same,” he said.
Vigneswaran denied these allegations, and lodged a report against it.
