KOTA KINABALU, June 5, 2015:
Several tremors that lasted for several seconds rocked several parts of Sabah at 7am today.
It was learnt that the earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.0 and at a depth of 10km, was felt in Ranau, Keningau, Kota Belud, Inanam, Likas, Kinarut, Penampang and Kota Kinabalu.
Netizens took to the social media to express their shock, with some saying they were awakened by the tremors.
It is believed that the tremors had also caused damage to buildings and homes.

Some netizens also blamed it on the nudists who stripped naked on the sacred Mount Kinabalu and posed for photographs last month, claiming that the shameful act had angered the mountain gods.
Mount Kinabalu, part of the Kinabalu Park Unesco World Heritage Site, is sacred to the locals, some of whom deem it the final resting place of their ancestors.
The local Dusun community still holds yearly sacrificial rituals to appease the spirits and ask for permission for the safety of their climbers.
Occasional tremors are felt in Sabah, with the latest being in February, where a mild one was felt in parts of east coast Sabah after a 5.6 magnitude undersea earthquake struck the Sulu Sea in the Philippines.
