PETALING JAYA, Dec 12, 2014:

Pakatan Rakyat leaders will be meeting in January 2015 to address concerns raised by DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed.

In denying there was tension within the coalition, the Opposition leader said he has informed PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang about the pow-wow to continue with PR’s agenda.

At the same time, he pointed out that other programmes and meetings at the secretariat levels, such as the discussion for the Opposition’s Alternative Budget, had continued as usual.

“For example, the Alternative Budget was approved by all three parties. Failing which, I would not have been able to present the Budget. This happened in October or November.

“The situation is not worrying, but Kit Siang had to give a nudge so that PR continues to be ‘fresh’ and relevant,” said Anwar.

Lim had on Monday admitted that the three component parties within the coalition had not met in half a year.

The Gelang Patah Member of Parliament also admitted that it was no secret things had not been well in Pakatan.

On a related matter, Anwar also denied that Abdul Hadi was refusing to attend the Opposition coalition’s meetings.

“I had two, albeit brief, meetings with Abdul Hadi in Parliament recently. He told me that he would be overseas for a month or two. I also said the meetings should be held soon.”

At the same time, he pointed out that Barisan Nasional meetings were also not frequently held.

“When was the last time a BN Supreme Council meeting was held? They hold it once a year and no one gets angry.”
