THE same vintage Dom Pérignon champagne served at the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana in 1981 and a 200-year-old cognac are among some of the items packed in a decadent Christmas hamper for the food lover who has everything.
British online luxury retailer VeryFirstto.com has come out with a holiday hamper for the rich and richer: The price tag is an eye-watering US$134,650 (RM474,612)).
Because no matter how gourmand a food and wine aficionado your loved one may be, they’re unlikely, for instance, to have sampled a 200-year-old Cognac Jules Robin circa 1789 that’s been stored in oak barrels for more than 70 years.
Likewise, the recipient will also be able to sample a drop of history with the Moët & Chandon Dom Pérignon from 1961 that served as the official bubbly for the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana in 1981.
Such auspicious champagne, meanwhile, deserves fancy glassware. Enter Rosenthal Champagne flutes from Versace.
A host of luxurious foodstuffs also fill the hamper, including a rare Almas caviar, truffles, foie gras, foie gras with truffles, a 25-year-old balsamic vinegar and a 4-year-old aged, Joselito gran reserva ham from Spain.
To serve the different tins of luxury caviar, the hamper includes a pair of caviar spoons, dish, and bottle opener made with mother of pearl.
